Studio Classes

GymWorks Preston has a huge range of studio classes catering for all levels of fitness and experience led by some of the most amazing teachers in the North West. All of our classes are included in your monthly membership and you can take part in as many as you like each month at no extra cost.

Classes

Body Attack

Les Mills BODYATTACK is a high-energy group fitness class that combines athletic cardio movements (like running, lunging, and jumping) with strength and stability exercises (like push-ups and squats). It’s set to motivating music and led by a trained instructor to guide you through.

Body Pump

The original barbell workout to shape, tone and strengthen your body. Using low weight and high repetitions, this class will help achieve strength and introduce lean muscle conditioning.

Bodycombat

BODYCOMBAT™ is a high-energy martial arts-inspired workout that is totally non-contact. Punch and kick your way to fitness and burn up to 740 calories* in a class. No experience needed. Release stress and feel like a champ!

Circuits/Bootcamp

NEVER Plateau! The body hates change! It would much rather do the same thing every minute of every day. Well we have news for you…when you do the same exercise routine day in and day out you stop seeing results or “plateau.” At Bootcamp we utilise the principle of muscle confusion. You will NEVER do the same workout twice! Why is this good? Because…your body will never adapt and you will never plateau! You will get results and they will come quick and continue to come…month after month after month.

Clubbercise

Simple, fun dance fitness routines to club anthems from 90′s classics to the latest chart hits taught in a darkened room with disco lights. Clubbercise offers both high and low dance options which make it are great class for beginners and fitness fans alike. One class burns around 600 calories.

Hybrid 45

A Hybrid Group Fitness class combines multiple training styles—such as strength training, cardio, HIIT, and mobility—into one session for a balanced, full-body workout.

Metafit

Metafit is a short, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that uses bodyweight exercises to improve strength, endurance, and metabolism. A typical session lasts around 20–30 minutes.

Pilates

Pilates is a low-impact exercise method focused on building core strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness. A typical Pilates session includes controlled movements performed on a mat, emphasising proper breathing, alignment, and posture to improve overall strength and mobility.

Spin

A high intensity group exercise class on a stationary bike focusing on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity (race days) and recovery.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The main components of yoga are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing.

Zumba

Zumba is a dance-based fitness program that combines Latin and international music with energetic, easy-to-follow dance moves. A typical Zumba session lasts about 45–60 minutes.

Really impressive gym, much bigger than I expected. Plenty of cardio machines (runners, stairmasters, concept 2 rowers, cross trainers etc) and a huge free weights area. Changing rooms are decent quality and overall good feel to the gym.

GymWorks has a variety of classes that I can’t wait to try and the studio is large enough that even with a full class you all still have comfortable space to kick, punch and cheer in! It’s open plan and lit with neon/led lights (I think they’re neon) it’s dark enough for me who is self-conscious about going to a gym but bright enough so you can see what’s going around you if you wanted too!
